University of Nottingham Futsal is proud to announce the opening of its “Centre of Excellence” for September 2015. The Centre is the first of its kind to be associated with the University, the sole objective being to help junior Futsal players develop and progress within the sport. The Centre of Excellence will begin with U14 and U16 squads who will represent University of Nottingham Futsal at local and national events.
The Centre of Excellence has been visiting secondary schools within the Nottinghamshire area and running free Futsal sessions for students, leading up to the first “Schools Cup” futsal tournament held in June 2015. The programme was a great success and selected players from participating schools have been invited to join the Centre of Excellence.
Nottingham Girls High School will kindly be hosting the sessions. Training for the U14 and U16 squads will commence in early September.
Centre Director, Daniel Smith, stated “We at University of Nottingham Futsal, are proud to announce the inception of our new Centre of Excellence and are looking forward to working with up and coming futsal players from the local community, as well as introducing the benefits of Futsal to a wider audience.”
The Centre of Excellence will also be beginning “Futsal Fever” sessions in the near future which will be open to both boys and girls of all ability to come and join in the fun. Stay tuned for further information.
