BUCS ROUND UP: UoN Unbeaten on Memorable Sunday Afternoon For Club

November 20, 2017

University of Nottingham Futsal entertained a crowd of 150+ on Sunday, with 4 BUCS matches and a National League fixture which resulted in an unbeaten day.

The 1s will be disappointed not to have taken all 3 points against Bedfordshire 1s, having controlled the majority of the game. However, the 3-3 draw is a welcome point to gain, and still leaves them top of the Midlands 1A.

The 2s faced Derby 1s in what was a heated affair. 2 red cards for Derby in the first half allowed University of Nottingham Futsal to fully capitalise, running out 7-5 winners, booking themselves a place in the last 16 of the Midland’s Conference Cup.

The 3s were due to face Easton and Otley College 1s, but unfortunately a last minute withdrawal meant that the 3s received a walkover, also finding themselves through to the last 16 of the Midlands Conference Cup. Instead, the 3s put on an exhibition match, the final score being 8-7 to the B team.

The 4s were also competing in the Midlands Conference Cup, facing Birmingham City University 1s. A resounding 14-3 victory also sees them into the last 16. The performance was deserving of the result, having dominated against a 1st team.

In an unbeaten round of fixtures, and 3 teams into the last 16 of the BUCS Conference Cup, University of Nottingham Futsal can be proud of such an impressive week in which over 60 players represented the club.
