University of Nottingham Futsal is pleased to welcome Edu Valor, who joins as a BUCS Coach & National League Assistant. Previously, he was part of the Staff Selección Valenciana Futsal, Torrent Fs Women and Birmingham Futsal Club.
Valor spoke about joining University of Nottingham Futsal: “The university cares about sports and in particular futsal. I think they have an excellent futsal programme that has made students who enter the university over the years become national league players. At the same time, top players of the country want to come to play here by the level of the staff, facilities, ethics and infrastructure.”
“I think Marc is a great coach with a big desire to develop the futsal in this country, that is crystal clear and he knows what he wants. I respect him as a person and his honesty. He genuinely cares about people so to work with him is a great opportunity.”
“Two years ago they started an ambitious project with a new approach, now the club seems like a family and earned a great reputation. They are one of few universities that take care of their first team equal to the fourth team, as they are all part of one club sharing a philosophy that I will help implement. Also, the facilities are incredible and no doubt boost the development and performance of players, a wonderful place to be based.”
The appointment follows the departure of Luke McRedmond due to work commitments. The club would like to thank Luke for his outstanding commitment and efforts throughout his time at the club, both as player and staff, and will be recognised formally at the end of the season.
Head of Men’s Futsal, Marc Forrest expressed his delight at Valor joining the Green and Gold: “It is great to have Edu join us, he has different experiences that will no doubt be of huge benefit to the BUCS players and enhance their student experience whilst aiding their development to help fulfill the ambition of the University of Nottingham Futsal programme to develop well rounded people and well rounded players. With his personal knowledge of other environments, cultures, coaching and more it can only add value to the players, staff and therefore the club as a whole.
